Helping Hands and The Barn

Helping Hands is a ministry of the Lehigh Presbytery. The Barn has partnered with them on several projects to aid victims of natural disasters:

In 2008 and 2009, we sent a team down to Long Beach, MS, to help reconstruct after Hurricane Katrina. In 2010, a team traveled to Nashville, TN to help clean up after devastating floods.

On May 22, 2011, an EF5 tornado destroyed 25% of Joplin, Missouri. This city is a community of almost 50,000 people. During the tornado, 2000 buildings were destroyed and 8,000 structures were impacted – 160 people lost their lives!

In April, 2012. the Helping Hands Team of Lehigh Presbytery took a group of volunteers to help with tornado recovery efforts in Joplin
